Life drawing charcoal exercise

A light exercise in our life drawing class. i didn`t get a very good mark on this one. But i had a good time doing it. Its done with Vine Charcoal and black and white contte. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Dragon, conseptual process and finished art work

This was a 2D design assignment. I wanted to post some of the conceptual process as well as the finished art for this particular painting. It took me a wile to get where I wanted to with the composition. The sketches are all pencil, the colored one is pencil crayons (conceptual process to your right).

The final work was done in gouache and it took me about 4 hours to paint it. I am not very experienced with the media so that is probably why it took me so long. I’ll get the hang of it eventually. I hope you guys enjoy, this was an assignment that took a lot of my time but was also one that I had a really good time doing. I also would like to say that I did this when my mom was visiting and her company made it that much easier for me to get this done!
